Pagani has built a one-off model to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Italian equivalent of the British Red Arrows Display team (an aerobatics team that performs stunts in jet planes) known as the ‘Frecce Tricolory’. The car is based on the Zonda Cinque but with some marked differences of course.
Only one model will ever be built and it will be unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The Tricolore ‘s tub is made from carbon fiber weaved with titanium wire while its exterior is just carbon fiber. Distinguishing it from the Cinque, the hypercar’ is fitted with LED lights at the front that look like the tail fin of an airplane, also the Cinque’s air intake snorkel has been replaced with a small vertical fin on top of the engine cover. The purpose of that will be revealed in Geneva.
The Zonda Tricolore features a clear blue lacquer coating and Frecce Tricori-mimicking strips running on the sides of the car. More information on this US$1.76 million car as soon as its revealed in Geneva.
