On-Board Video: Kimi’s Big Moment at Rally of Mexico
March 9, 2010
A great video of Kimi’s big six-roller at the Rally of Mexico. Ken Block had a shunt as well but managed to go much further into the stage then the ‘Ice Man’, a video of Ken’s big moment is posted after the jump. Kimi’s recent performance in rallying does beg the question though, if Formula One drivers are so great, how come they hardly do well in rallying or other race series?

i don’t think it’s right to continue to expect the same level of performance from a Formula One driver racing in a different race series..
racing a formula one car requires different skills and methods.. try racing a car on track the same way you would race a kart.. you’d notice you can’t brake as late.. you have different levels of grip.. everything’s just different…
now imagine being a formula one driver for as long as you can remember and you have competed at the highest level of the sport with the best teams in the world.. then imagine racing on gravel and snow with almost no grip and downforce.. the difference is vast and very very very apparent …
it should be expected that Kimi won’t do as well so soon.. Just like Schumacher didn’t do so well in bike racing.. all i hope for is that all this bad press doesn’t dampen his spirits..
i second above.if u look at the vids, kimi’s run were kinda rusty not as smooth as block.
I would say, Yo Kimi!! Go race on the track not dirt! hahaha.
And then would say to Ken, Yo Ken, This is rally not cement obstacle course. hahahaha.
Then i run away them trying to run me down….!
kimi’s all about timing. given the right timing (and conditions), he will shine like a motherfcking sun.
its totally diffrent kind of race …1 is Rally off track, 1 is F1 which can climb up to 340km/h on track ..
We cannot do comparison on it…Good try KIMI!!
Anyway good to be a rally racer rather than drifter.huhuuhu.REAL + PURE = RALLY
but den why does rally driver(sebastien loeb) and motorbike rider(valentino rossi) can go fast in f1? hmm..fundamentally all kind of racing have the same theory and techniques the only different is experience and the machine itself. but salute to kimi as he dare to venture to other kind of motorsport.
