NASCAR: Danica Patrick vs Nelson Piquet Jr

If you think that a girl can’t race then you should watch this video and see how Danica Patrick avoids crashing into the wall after a battle with Nelson Piquet Jr who made his NASCAR debut. Danica Patrick, also on her debut race fell down to 24th place and by the final 17 laps she only managed to climb up to 23rd place, but she eventually out drove 17 other drivers and finished in 6th place. For the record, Nelson Piquet Jr who impressed early on in the race finished in 27th place and 13 laps down from the race winner.

Nascar is rubbish??!?!? Look for a top gear episode where they spray painted a car that they hate nascar. You will see a lady in the diner come out with a shot gun! That is how much USA loves nascar.

if ppl say badminton is rubbish, all malaysian will flip. if malaysian say other sport is rubbish, then its ok…. some malaysian have really bad mouth.. i dont watch nascar but i dont say its rubbish
Nascar’s ‘formula’ is not sexy compared to others but I wouldn’t call the racing rubbish. It’s TOUGH for drivers. The less complex spec(seemingly) and the greater equality between cars makes the racing much closer and more pressure on the driver. Ex single seater drivers including ex-f1 drivers like Montoya found the racing very challenging, like any new competitive series one ventures into. Plus commercially Nascar is huge.
The spec seems simple compared to Indy or F1 but the engineering that teams run, working within those rules, is advanced.
The pit stops are also hard to do. Respect to the mechanics who have to bolt on 5 nuts per tyre as fast as possible to change a tyre. It’s harder than F1 or any single seater series pit stops.
