Forget the Widowmaker Meet the Terminator: 827hp, 948Nm “GT2 Speed Bi-Turbo”

The original Porsche 993 GT2 is fondly remembered as the ‘widow maker’ and rightfully so. With 430hp sitting aft of the rear axle and literally zero electronic netting for you to lean on, the original GT2 was a handful in all conditions. Fast forward 16 years and the new Porsche GT2 features 530hp and very little electronic gadgets and is just as intimidating to drive. But the GT2 has spawned a few generations now, meaning it does sit warmly in the hearts of people and in the pockets of Porsche, so there will always be demand for a high powered rear-wheel-drive Porsche.

Possibly realising that, German tuner Wimmer RS came up with it’s latest tuning project amply named “GT2 Speed Bi-Turbo”. By coupling a pair of high-performance turbochargers, a sport exhaust system, a modified engine block and a new ECU, Wimmer RS liberated 827hp at 7,400rpm and a mind-blowing 948Nm or 699.2lb-ft of torque.

Wimmer RS claims that the GT2 Speed Bi-Turbo does the century sprint in just 3.38 seconds and to 300km/h in 20.2 seconds and maxes out at 378km/h. Now if the original 993 GT2 only had 430hp and was dubbed the widow maker, this modern  reincarnation should be called the terminator.

The car also gets a set of 20-inch Sportec alloy rims wrapped in 235/30 R20 high-performance Dunlop tires up front and 325/25 R20 at the rear, along with H&R sport springs and carbon fiber exterior mirrors and a rear spoiler lip.

The GT2 Speed Bi-Turbo is priced at about US$424,000 at todays exchange rates.
