Win RM50,000 In Shell’s One Litre Challenge

Following the recent introduction of Shell’s most advanced fuel economy formula, the Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol, formulated to help motorists save up to one litre with every full tank1, Shell Malaysia today launched the “Shell One Litre Challenge” inviting Malaysian motorists to compete to see who can travel the furthest using one litre of Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol.

The winner of the Shell One Litre Challenge will be crowned the Shell FuelSave Champion and win a total of RM45,000 in cash and RM5,000 worth of Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol.

Encik Azman Ismail, Retail National Sales and Operations Manager, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd said, “Our new Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol is formulated to help drivers save up to a litre per full tank by reducing energy loss in the engine, making saving easier, especially when combined with the right driving. With this Challenge, we’re hoping to demonstrate to Malaysian motorists just how far they can go on one litre of Shell fuel. Our Shell FuelSave Ambassador Fahrin Ahmad, who participated in the one litre challenge in Europe in May last year, achieved a distance of 21.3km on just 1 litre of Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol.“

The ”One Litre Challenge” will be held at selected Shell stations in six states including Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang, Johor Bahru, Melaka and Kuantan. Shortlisted participants from each state will then drive the Challenge Car on a stipulated route, representative of a normal every day journey.

Based on a minimum tank size and fill up of 50 litres. Comparison between standard gasoline with and without fuel economy formula. Actual savings may vary according to vehicle, driving conditions and driving style.

The winner from each of these locations will be determined by the furthest distance travelled on one litre of Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol, measured by a FuelSave monitoring device installed in the car.

These state winners will then compete to be Shell’s FuelSave Champion, in the finals to be held in December 2009 in Kuala Lumpur.
