The Asian Auto Fuel Efficiency Awards is back again for 2009 and continues its effort to help consumers identify the best investment for the most fuel efficient automobiles in the local market. This time around though, the Fuel Efficiency Awards will be known as the Asian Auto – Mudah.my Fuel Efficiency Awards 2009.

Partnering the nation’s biggest online marketplace, Mudah.my, the fuel efficiency awards promises to be more exciting and thorough this time around with 16 different categories that include such models like city cars, 4×4 vehicles, performance cars and even supercars.

The pre-award briefing was conducted by Asian Auto editor, Daniel Fernandez at Saujana Subang attended by some 50 hopefuls representing all car manufacturers in Malaysia.

“We received overwhelming response from car manufacturers last year when we introduced this awards programme. What was then a relatively new ‘subject’ for Malaysians is now one of the key factors in determining future vehicle purchases by owners. And this awards do just that; listing the mileage clocked for every cent spent on fuel. We hope that this year, we will continue to receive the same if not greater response from car manufacturer and vehicle owners,” said Asian Auto editor, Daniel Fernandez.

“This year we have 16 categories altogether covering all categories of vehicles including Compact City Cars, Compact Premium City Cars, Family Cars, Premium Family Cars, Luxury Family Cars, Executive Cars, Premium Executive Cars, Super Saloons, Super Sports Coupes, Performance Cars, Pickup Trucks, Compact MPV, Luxury MPV, Compact and Luxury SUV, and even supercars,” added Fernandez.
