Ferrari F40: Tearing Down A Legend
January 27, 2009

The Ferrari F40 stunned the world when it was first introduced and today, 20 years later it still remains a thing of fantasy and worship. Owning one is probably every petrol heads dream but owning one and having the skill and knowledge to tear it down and put it back together is something very few people are capable of.

The car belongs to a TeamSpeed member who goes by the name Peloton. He took on the challenge of rebuilding his V8 Twin-Turbo and by the looks of it, is way past the point of no return. Well, this gives us a chance to check out the inner workings of the legendary V8 engine in the gallery below. Something not many have seen.

DIY overhaul Ferrari. Damn respecto even if IF he cannot finish it.
they got the balls to do it…
cheersss
Look like a there ia a few Ferrari behind it … Did they DIY that too ? Interesting …
If there’s people who would mod a r35 which is more advance than the F40, why not?
A few more years down the road n you might find your local workshops tearing apart the VQ32DETT.
I don’t think anyone is adept at DIY taking apart a R35 at the moment. Its damn well more electronics than mechanics. Anyway it says he is DIY overhauling the F40. Also few weeks back “Links” who is in HK did said the ECU is finicky. You touch something or the ECU senses something wrong, the ECU have to be resetted by factory! There goes the DIY, erk!
Too bad about the only F40 in Malaysia that was totaled a few years ago but the engine was ok. Maybe this DIY dude should look for parts here
