Autocar Drives FIA GT3 Series Racer – The BMW Alpina B6 GT3

BMW tuner Alpina celebrated its return to racing with this, the B6 GT3. Based on the BMW 6-Series, Alpina’s 20 year hiatus from the racing scene ended this year when it revealed the GT3 earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. Alpina’s factory works team fielded a pair of the B6 GT3’s in this year’s European FIA GT3 series, the 24-hours of Nurburgring, as well as the ADAC-GT Masters. The car is also available to privateers for national GT3 race series in Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, as well as in the VLN Endurance Series on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and other selected 24-hour endurance races. With a unique radical supercharger fitted to its 4.4-liter V8, the B6 GT3 puts out 530hp to the rear wheels and sounds amazing. Autocar recently tested one and here’s the video. There’s one thing to look out for in the video, the gear-change, you’ll know what I mean when you’re past the two minute mark.
