600hp Full Carbon Fiber Bodied Nissan GT-R To Debut Next Month

December 28, 2009

Nissan-GT-R-R35-Full-Carbon-1

I have never been a fan of the Nissan GT-R R35. The design and abundance of electronics doesn’t do it for me, but this, now this is totally mean. It’s still a sketch as yet but it represents a new tuning proposal from Japan’s Original Runduce. It’s a full carbon-fiber bodied GT-R with a aggressive/gorgeous aero kit that bundles wider front and rear fenders, a new hood with several air intakes and a larger rear wing plus alloy wheels of which we have no information yet because for now, Original Runduce is keeping most details a secret. But what we do know is that the Japanese tuning firm massaged the VR38DETT powerplant to produce 600hp and the finished Nissan GT-R R35 is expected to make its debut at next month’s “Tokyo Auto Salon 2010″ in Japan. More Rumours On The Return Of The Mazda RX-7

December 28, 2009

mazda_furai

We’ve been hearing about it for nearly a year now but the rumours are still persistent and the latest gossips are yet again saying the same thing; the RX-8 is about to phased out to make way for the revival of the RX-7. The relatively more expensive and slow-selling RX-8 never really went down well with Mazda fans and the bosses at the Japanese car-maker realise this and that’s exactly what the next generation RX-7 is looking at rectifying. Digital Workchop: Rear engined 4WD WRX

December 28, 2009

modded impreza

We’ve always been a fan of photochopped works of art. Here’s one by  digimods.co.uk sharing their latest piece. A widebody track machine complete with rear engine conversion sending torque through a propshaft to the front wheels. finished with scoops of air intakes feeding and cooling the turbocharged lump. I particularly love the staggered BBS wheels. It may not be real but it’s too good not to be. Impressed, we decided to work on our project MINI too. It’s a skill we’ve not put to good use in a long time.. Read more

The Real Ultimate Driving Machine: Top Gear Drives The Noble M600

December 27, 2009

600hp, no ABS, no electronic safety nets whatsoever, impossibly quick, faster than a Veyron and pretty much everything else around a track, and it’s no Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche or Mclaren-Mercedes. So if you are a mainstream freak whose car needs to make a big enough statement to suit your ego then this is not for you. A pure driving machine with a singular pursuit of driving passion and very little of everything else, the Noble M600 is a rare breed in today’s world of electronics and trick gearboxes. We love it, and so does Top Gear, here’s Mr.Clarkson and the Noble M600. Read more

Honda HSV-10 GT Pre-Season Testing

December 27, 2009

More footage of the eagerly anticipated Honda HSV-10 GT – the spiritual successor to the legendary NSX. Though it shares nothing at all with the outgoing model, the HSV-10 GT has been tasked with succeeding the NSX’as legacy in the Japan Super GT Championship. And though there’s no news yet on whether or not the HSV-10 GT will make it to production, the fact can’t be discounted. The car is basically the same car that Honda was working on as a road-going large scale production model successor to the NSX, but the program was scrapped due to the economic crisis.

Now thanks to new Super GT rules, all cars will have to be front engine and rear wheel driven, effectively driving the NSX out of the race. Honda found some sort of a loophole in the rules and now leading Honda’s charge in the Super GT series will be the 500hp 3.4-liter V8  HSV-10 GT. Read more

Radical SR8LM Sets Fastest Lap Time At Nurburgring

December 25, 2009

This is not a repeat of the video we published back in August when the Radical SR8LM first broke the record at the Nurburgring Nordschleiffe but rather it’s a new video released just days ago. The SR8LM wrestled the record away from it’s lesser sibling the SR8 with a new Nurburgring Nordschleiffe lap record of 6min 48sec. The SR8 had set a record of 6min 55sec back in 2005. Here’s a video of the new Radical SR8LM shattering the SR8’s record by a good seven seconds.
