2006-24h-nbr-t-6263-600The Nurburgring 24 hour race, which is currently on going and will continue all the way to Sunday (monday morning for Malaysians) is being streamed live on the web. Coverage of the race started not too long ago and race progress and info is available at the links provided below.

The 24 Hours Nurburgring, officially known as ADAC 24h Rennen Nurburgring in German, is inspired by the famous 24 hour races of Le Mans and Spa. The 24h race is dedicated to amateur drivers and cheap production cars. Typical entries range from standards roads cars, like the VW Scirocco and Kia Proceed to European Touring Car Championship cars and supercars like the Porsche 911. 230 are allowed during practice sessions while 220 qualify for the race, cars are driven by 800 or more drivers as typical race teams include up to four drivers in their line up. One driver is allowed to drive 150 minutes nonstop, and is allowed to race two cars, yet a rest time of at least 2 hours has to be observed between two race stints.
