Nissan 370Z Expected To Be Unofficially Unveiled Tomorrow

nissan370z-scooppNissan is expected to unofficially unveil the 370Z tomorrow, the 29th of October. Meanwhile, here’s a rendering from Japanese car magazine CarMode. But we find it weird how the picture is dated December 2008, a mole within the mag company? Most likely. It’s unclear if the image is a scoop of the real thing or a lightly photoshopped version of the camouflaged 370Z that we brought to you a few weeks ago but from the pictures we saw floating around the net, this image gives us a pretty good idea of how the next generation Z will look like.

The successor to the 350Z which has been benchmarked against the Porsche Cayman and the next generation BMW Z4 just to mention a few, will make its first public appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 19 November 2008.

While Nissan has adopted the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” kind of mentality for its new sports car, nevertheless the 370Z will boast a more powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine -same as the one used in the Infiniti G37- with power channeled through a 7-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual gearbox, as well as a shorter wheelbase for better handling and a significantly improved interior.

Here’s a video of the 370Z during testing.
