New Image Released On The Aston Martin Rapide

The last time anything was released on the Aston Martin Rapide was the first official renderings on the production version of the Rapide. There was also talk on the next release of an official image of the Rapide to be somewhere in January. Well today we bring you that image thanks to a earlier release.

This view shows the dramatic sweeping glass roof that carries right down into the rear glass. The tail looks a lot like that on the Vantage, but when you have family genes like those of Aston Martin, that’s not a bad thing. Expect the Rapide to be powered by a tuned version of the corporate 6.0L V12 producing 500bhp and 420 lb-ft of torque. That should be more than enough to rapidly scoot the Rapide to an anticipated v-max of 300km/h.

too bad its like the Porsche, a stretched version of their 2 doors coupes.
Hmmmm if Ian Callum penned the utter gorgeous DB9,
Henrik Fisker intensified the DNA through the V8 Vantage.

Come on I'm hoping that someone like Wolfgang Egger could come along and bring it to another level. But you can only ask for so much from something that looks already gorgeous.

Hopefully the economic meltdown doesn't turn this into the 21st century's forgotten supersaloon.
Because I'm sure the Panamera will sell in their thousands seeing that the asthethically challenged Cayenne is enjoying huge sales despite looking like a gawking whale.

so far, only merc's CLS has made it. panamera is rubbish. that BMW CSL gone. rapide is, still uncovered by aston. but from what i;ve seen, its not as good as that 3 year old CLS.

but maybe aston martion got something else to be unwrap. i'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

The AM Rapide, Porsche Panamera and (hopefully) Lamborghini Estoque are a different breed compared to the Merc CLS. Not quite the same league.

Which BMW CSL? If its the M3 CSL, thats not even close
