Future Scooter: UnoMoto Unicycle

It’s already bad enough knowing that while you have been sitting behind your desk, time has totally passed you by, but nothing hits home the point better than new technology and inventions. Before you knew it there was super slim LCD and Plasma screens replacing your conventional tube TV and now you have motorcycles with one wheel instead of two, well actually there are still two wheels, they’re just mounted side by side instead of the stone aged front-back layout, but I’m totally convinced we’re now arriving to the Minority Report like era.

This two-wheeled contraption you see here is a UnoMoto and is the work of 18 year old Ben Gulak from Ontario, Canada. Best described as a two wheeled unicycle, it is essentially a Yamaha R1 frame coupled with Segway scooter like gyroscopic balancing technology wrapped in a custom made body that results in this ultra modern electric powered commuter vehicle.

Riding the UnoMoto is said to be intimidating but simple as the on/off switch is the only electronic control and once you have it up and balanced, you simply lean forward to accelerate, lean back to brake, and lean sideways to steer left or right. The UnoMoto will reach a top speed of about 25mph in its current prototype form while the batteries will last for about 2.5 hours in normal use.

With the current rise in energy prices what else could we need but maybe roads that are totally devoid of trucks to run over us and the UnoMoto.
