The BMW Performance Steering Wheel is equipped with two buttons hidden under the alcantara clad wheel. The buttons are located in the area of the thumb rest, a famous feature offered only to the ‘M’ series previously.

The display features the folowing information:

– Stoppwatch

– Stoppwatch race (1/100s), up to 10 interim times

– Launch command via symbolic traffic light, reaction timer, maximum speed, top score will be saved automatically

-Quatermile race via symbolic traffic light, times for 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile

-Acceleration timer 0-40km/h,0-60km/h,…up to 400 meters

-G-meter (transverse & straight acceleration)

-Engine & oil temperature

-Shiftlights – 2×5 LEDs

This ‘performance’ steering wheel is an optional item for all latest BMW range.

great news for all bmw..but is this a patented design?can mercedes and others car manufacturer copy this.?hehe..look like F1 shift light..i hope can see it in Merz..Bmw call it performance steering wheel...others car may use different name...Merz maybe copy this and change to multi-function with display steering wheel..cool technology lead by BMW...nice nice nice...

Truly, I am loving this recent model much more and additional. Maybe since it somewhat has a resemblance to the dated classy versions. The down played however classy styling, the lengthy, low front end. It is a shame I won't be able to purchase one for at the very least 15 yrs...
