VW Golf GTi Performance Design Study
May 24, 2008

Chances are, you may see such an extreme body kit on cars on display at International Tuning Events like SEMA & Tokyo International Motorshow but surprisingly, this extreme Golf is a creation of Volkswagen themselves. The black and copper chequered flag design suits the VWs design scheme pretty well, so does the entire widebody kit, lowered suspension and rims but I don’t quite agree with the amount of grill work that adorns the rear end, in fact the entire protruding rear end doesn’t quite cut it and what the f**k is up with the Lamborghini style scissor doors? For hot hatch tuners our there, scissor doors are meant for supercars only, and sincerely, only Lamborghini can pull it off with style, so please don’t bother. Volkswagen hasn’t just stopped at that to get this Golf the attention it seeks, the passenger cabin gets a 2 + 1 sport seating arrangement and what appears to be a substantial ICE system. Seems like some top director at VW has had an overdose of Hot Import Tuning and Sport Compact Car and we don’t mind but just as long as there are no scissor doors, please.
