Video: Aston Martin One-77 Already Sold Out

While most of us cringe at the thought of a global economical slowdown and are scrambling to save whatever we can to see out the bad times, the super-mega-hyper-rich of the world are throwing up to £200,000 deposits for a £1,000,000 car that no one has seen yet.

Aston Martin is claiming that 100 people have signed up to purchase its stupendously expensive One-77 though the British brand plans to build only enough to satisfy the cars label; 77. Because of that number and the build up in demand, the One-77 will already be rare even before it sees daylight and that virtually guarantees a price appreciation starting from the time the order books close (who says car business is bad business?).

Such guaranteed price appreciation and rareity could just subject the One-77 to a museum life (low mileage, higher price) as that’s where most cars of its calibre end up.  A carbon-fiber chasis and aluminium body also works wonders in keeping rust and other nasty stuff at bay, making it cheap to store. But is that really the way to treat a 700hp V12 Aston Martin?
