Its not so much as replacing parts but creating new components underneath all that sheet metal that makes it a Subaru.     I remember on a Touge Special they asked Tommi Makinen to bring the previous Subaru WRC to the Gunsai touge, their head engineer said that if u want to bring that technology to the road car it would at least( cant remember) 200 000pounds or somethin so its no suprise it also takes that long….
