The Marketplace: Toyota VVT boys – Some cheap to buy toys

November 5, 2008

VTEC getting all the attention? Here’s an addition to your VVT. Wired to your ECU, this VVT Indicator gadget lets you know when VVT is engaged. According to Chinozie, the guy behind this cool product, the VVT indicator encourages better fuel consumption by allowing its user to drive below the VVT zone. The VVT indicator will also tell Toyota boys if the VVT Solenoid Valve (OCV) is functioning. Above all, it’s just cool to have one of this fitted for a mere RM45 with 4 LED colour options to choose from.

I’ve used this almost 10 years ago on my brother’s AE111 6 speed blacktop SEG. Frankly, when the VVT kicks in, it’s not as if it’s vtec where u get that punch of power.. it’s quite smooth. I do not know if when the VVT consumes more petrol when it’s engaged but if it does, this LED device is quite useful. It’s because u’ll know when to back off d pedals to disengage
