Spyker to Build Road-Legal GT2 Car
September 3, 2008
Does the name Spyker ring any bell? Our very own Fairuz Fauzy was one of their F1 test drivers in 2007. This Dutch carmaker is working on a limited-edition road-going version of its C8 GTR2 racing car. The C8 Laviolette LM85 is expected to make its debut before the end of the year, and it is likely to include a 450bhp engine to go with its racing car looks and handling.

The LM85, named after the GT2 race car’s Le Mans starting number of 85, will be in supercar territory in terms of performance, accelerating from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds before reaching top speed that’s expected to be about 186mph.
However, some additional weight for noise reduction and comfort features are likely to make the road car fractionally slower than the race car. A limited production run of just 24 LM85s is expected.
