Spied: Mercedes SLR Speedster Testing At The ‘Ring

The SLR Speedster, hailed as the revival of the 1950s GullWing and as a modern interpretation of the 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SLR that Sir Stirling Moss drove to victory in the excruciating Mille Miglia race is expected to be officially revealed any day now.
While we wait around for that to happen, spy photographers are providing us with teasers of what the SLR Speedster may look like. Caught here running the Nurburgring circuit in Germany, the special edition SLR 722 with its roofless design and low rising windscreen will be produced in very limited numbers, 75 to be exact.
As a result of the SLR lacking a roof, it sheds a total of 440pounds or around 200kgs, making it the fastest of any SLRs with a top speed of 350km/h. Just in case you’re wondering how hard it pulls, it does 0-300km/h in 26 seconds!! You do the math.
