Next Generation Honda NSX Spied Testing at Nurburgring, Honda CEO Demands GTR Beating Performance

Spy photographers over at KGP Photography always seem to somehow get their hands on the juciest developments in the industry and the latest one is the next generation Honda NSX seen undergoing testing in and around the Nurburgring, not only that, it has apparently been driven hard whenever it went out on track, and there’s a good reason behind it too. Inside Line reported that Honda CEO Takeo Fukui wants the NSX to be faster than the GT-R and the Lexus LF-A around the ‘Ring, though how they’re going to figure out how fast the LF-A is before its released is beyond us.
Picture this, the Honda NSX is out to beat the same physics defying GT-R that lapped the ring at 7′29″, AND the Lexus LF-A that is also being developed to GT-R beating performance levels, and it only has two years left in its development stage, sounds like Honda’s engineers really have their work cut out for them.
Inside Line suggests that the NSX will be powered by a 5.5L V10 engine producing 550hp and 420 pound-feet of torque that is based on a V8 that’s destined to power the next generation, rear wheel drive, Acura RL. IL also believes that the NSX will channel power through an eight speed gearbox that offers an advanced version of Honda’s Super Handling All Wheel Drive system and as before, aluminium construction for obvious reasons. But as AutoBlog observed, by the time the NSX actually makes an appearance, the GTR V-Spec will be out, improving laptimes all over the world and setting the standards for the NSX-R to beat which will then set the standards for the GTR V-Spec II to beat and the cycle goes on and on.

this is something to look forward too…a Honda beast to compete wit the GT-R…can’s wait to see if Honda can live up to the greatness of GT-R…let’s all just wait n see wat Honda has to deliver…gambate Honda!! =D
in another set of photos from Brenda Priddy, the test mule bares similarities to the s2000-bodied mule.
i’d say a V8 is lurking underneath the hood, since another FR Acura (Honda) Sedan was spied testing, with classic FR proportions.
I would say that this is NOT the NSX replacement, since the new NSX was targeted at a higher level of cars.
Not GT-Class.

Currently the 17 years old NSX still live n kicking comparing with latest GTR in Super GT and the Arta NSX performance is on par if not better than GTRs in Sepang, Malaysia circuit recently.I am sure it is matter of time the NSXs are going to give the GTRs a run for their money. Anyhow, even if the outcome is reverse nothing beats the world record in its class set by the Japanese legend. Long Live Honda!
