New VW Beetle Celebrates Its 10th Birthday

Can you believe the new VW Beetle is already ten? It has been around since 1998 but was originally unveiled as a design study car called “Concept 1” at the North American International Auto Show in 1994. The Beetle 3 door and Convertible have together sold more than 500,000 units in the U.S as of April 08 while over 1 million units have been produced worldwide.

Impressive but not as impressive as the 21,529,464 units its predecessor sold during the 50 or so years in remained in production. We’re sure it’ll keep selling, that design will never go out of style.
