The Mighty Nissan GTR BEATEN at Nurburgring!

Who would have thought?! Has the Nissan GTR been beaten already? Well, there goes GTR’s bragging rights!
So quick after claiming the fastest time around the Nurburgring, the GTR appears to have lost its top dog status to the new 2009 Corvette ZR1.
The ZR1 has lapped the Ring in a time of 7 minutes 26 seconds, with anticipation of faster times if the weather was better during the record breaking run!
The car was stock standard except for the communications and safety equipments. According to the engineers, even the tires were also stock, and the Corvette was running on normal pump fuel.
The 6.2-liter supercharged engine powering the Corvette ZR1 packs 638 bhp/ 475kW. The monstrous engine would bring the american muscle car to 100km/h in a blistering 3.4 seconds, and breaking the quarter mile mark in 11.3 seconds.

I think it’s not JUST the engine size, power output and weight that would determine good lap times. Just to look at it in a different way, many other variables, design-concepts and build-purposes are factored into a car. The Radical pretty much is the lowest HP car in the list, yet they are faster than all the Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos, and the rest!
It is up to the manufacturers to capitalize on the available know-how and technology to make their cars faster.
A simple analysis of the Nissan GTR vs Corvette ZR1:
1. 3.8ltr twin turbo vs 6.2ltr twin-screw supercharger
2. All-wheel drive (ATTESA E-TS) vs Rear wheel drive
3. Bridgestone’s semi slicks vs Michelin PS2
4. Twin-clutch sequential gearbox vs traditional box
5. 7:29 vs 7:26

extra almost 200 more hp and almost 200 kg less weight than the GTR and its only manage to do 3 second faster? whahhwhahha wait till the new GTR vspec and lexes a.k.a supra and the nsx i think they all gone whoop some *ss hahaha
a drag race that lasted 7minute-8 minute..
and the winner only leads by 3 second with less weight and 200 hp more..
obviously not a great result.
buy its is really X10000 amazing how close it was…
dragging for 7plus minute side by side…
ofcoz , its not a drag race..
