Man Manages 5 Trips Around The World On Same Tires

April 12, 2008

What is the longest you have kept your tires? For comparison, the average driver keeps the same set of tires for less than 30,000 miles. A British driver named Tim Townsend has managed to pull of the unbelievable by managing to complete a whopping 117,000 miles or the equivalent of five trips around the globe, with the same set of tires on his Land Rover Defender 90 !! And get this, Mr. Townsend claims that he completed these miles on anything other than normal roads. Even if this story was used by Avon Tires as a publicity stunt, you still have to admit that Mr Townsend’s accomplishment if pretty impressive.
