Lotus Confirms Evora Convertible And Supercharged 400hp Evora S
August 7, 2008
Just over a week after the Evora was officially introduced at the London Motor Show, Lotus CEO Michael Kimberley has announced that six more variants of the new Lotus will be introduced to keep the Evora fresh over its eight year life span.

The line up includes a convertible, a naturally aspirated 3.5 liter V6 that’s output is uprated to 320hp over the entry levels 280hp. After that, forced induction takes over. According to sources, the mid-mounted V6 has been positioned in the engine bay in such a way that there is still room for a supercharger and that’s exactly what Lotus has done. The Evora S as well as other high performance variants will receive the supercharger treatment which sees their power output hiked up to the northern regions of 400hp which goes on to drop 0-100 sprint to well under four seconds. It almost seems as if Lotus has squared in on the Porsche Turbo, could it be after the Nissan GTR’s lap timing as well? With Lotus ride and handling, now with more power, the stage is very well set.
