Official: 2009 Volkswagen Golf MkVI – Latest Images (New Pics Added)

The VW Golf is one of the most successful automobiles of all time. True there are others that sold more units but so has the Golf, it’s easily recognisable and widely available all over the world. It has been in Malaysia for about two years now and it’s successful here as well, just take a drive along any federal roads and you’ll see, chances are, even you own one.
Well the 2009 model is ripe for release and these are the latest images to make in to the internet. It’s obvious that the MkVI Golf has taken some inspiration from the mad W12 Golf that attended the Golf gathering at Worthersee. The front air-dam echoes the width of the car, its foglamps are pushed out to the far corners to also emphasize on its width, and out back the tailpipes follow suit. Inside, the de rigeur upholstery is in place and looks better than the current generation with the metal accents and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. Let’s just hope the plastics don’t feel as cheap as they do now.
The MkVI is powered by a 207-hp TFSI engine and comes fitted with an electronic limited-slip differential called XDS and utilizes the same adaptive chasis as the Scirocco. DSG is of course, standard. Malaysians are going to have to wait till somewhere mid next year, or if we’re lucky, sooner.
nice but too simple exterior…interior is better from current model..how much this will be in msia??

yup.. cuz the rest of the Golf line-up will look like this as well.. minus the aggressiveness and etc.. i really appreciate the attentiveness.. ZTH needs more sharp eyes around.. helps to keep us on our toes.. haha..
loving the new outlook of the exterior. the new front fascia is really intriguing. the dashboard gauges and displays are well organized. not really feeling the steering wheel though, looks very busy like Tokyo during rush hour.
and regarding the ‘Burberry-ish’ seat fabric, doesn’t really blend well with the overall design. my 2 cents.
yup, kinda VW typical look. Sciroco look alike at d first glance.

the current one looks more aggressive.. me don’t like it.

i dont like the rear. looks like a smaller version of the touareg.

Previewed at the on-going Paris Motor Show 2008, the new Golf GTI doesn’t look much different from the outside, the tout lines and stance look the same though the grill, lights, and some redesign work does make differentiating it possible. The interior is where the difference really lies. The steering wheel, center console lay-out and meters are all a step up from the current generation, but the gear lever and seats remain the same. Current Golf owners will be pleased but if you’re looking to purchase a Golf, this is a good time to think about whether or not its worth the wait. We’re guessing it is.
