Honda NSX Replacement Model Caught Without Camouflage

car_photo_268296_25The highly anticipated Honda NSX replacement model has finally been revealed without its zebra camouflage revealing a beautiful design worthy of succeeding the legendary NSX. Honda’s V10 supercar is still in its development stage at the ‘Ring and Honda’s engineers have set out to achieve two targets.

Honda has been challenged to get the suspension of the supercar to be set up just right for the ‘Ring with its eight speed auto gearbox with pedal shifts and advanced four wheel drive, but more specifically, Honda has set out to build the fastest production model around the famed circuit. That may sound simple for Honda’s experienced engineers, but it will surely be no easy feat with its closest rivals, the Nissan GT-R and Lexus LF-A, both very capable of a sub seven minute 30 second lap time.

It’s already well known that the as-yet-to-be-named coupe will be powered by a 550bhp 5.5 liter V10 engine but recent information revealed that the engine will feature cylinder deactivation technology. The system shuts down five cylinders when engine load is light, saving precious fuel and reducing its carbon footprint. But with torque set to top 570Nm, things can always be reversed as all ten cylinders kick to life and the horizon turns into a big blur. According to the guys over at Auto Express, the 2 + 2 coupe will wear a “hybrid” aluminium and steel body to reduce weight, and will run on a modified version of the US Acura RL saloon platform.

Expect the car to make it here by late 2011 or early 2012 carrying a price tag close to a million ringgit.

Um, caught without camouflage? The original Auto Express article doesn't say that:
"Shrouded in a zebra-like camouflage, Honda’s new V10 supercar finally broke cover this week. And it’s the latest step in a project to replace the NSX."

A lambo front can't match a porshe rear. NSX should has its own stands. The 1st and 2nd gen look better.

Looks like they mix an mathc a lot of cars together. Look around, you'll see what i mean. its in the details. As for the "curve" plate number comment above, yes you can bend plates becuase euro, american, japanese and some other countries have platesthat are made of metal. I think was thin steel. ;) They probably have plate number brackets made.

Frankly speaking, the looks are not in anyway interesting to me because the NSX is the most sexiest Japanese car to date.

is it just me or that this new upcoming nsx just looks hideous? i don't fancy the lines at the back, somehow like the new accord, it's just not that clean-looking as the previous generation one.....hmmm, how i wished ayrton senna was still alive, he would have really helped in the development of the car.....

NSX had a lot of heritage. F355 beater and Senna DNA. Senna actually told Honda to make the chassis stiffer and they did. NSX handling was legendary.

This new Honda/Acura would need to be extra special

I think that nissan and honda made a mistake when resurrecting the GTR and NSX, two cars that had multiple models to compete with Toyota's LF-A an original car. Honda and Nissan should have made these cars to be completely new, original cars.

Honda and Nissan should have kept their icons the way people remember them to be instead of turning them into machines that only the people that have cash overflowing from their wallets can afford.

I think Nissan's GTR is ok. It is living up to everyone's expectations probably surpassing it, which is what the previous GTR(skyline) since R32 used to do anyway, exceeding performance expectations.

It is also bespoke and not simply a variation of a production model. Not sure about the LF-A though and what expectations are of it.

I wonder what it's gonna be called. Especially with a 550bhp V10- Holy crap!!!! It has to have a "sexy" sounding name, like Viper or Vanquish. But, knowing honda, they'll probably call it the "HC" or some other 2-letter designation. I agree with the meshing of cars on looks, though. Only Honda could pull something like this off...
S
Thank you Honda for creating this piece of crap.
What ever happened to the HSC concept? That actually had some of the features from the NSX ( targa, rear engine, nose ) This looks like an accord blended with a LFA.
