BMW Recalls 200,000 Vehicles

BMW is recalling 200,000 units of 3-series, 5-series and X3 models in the USA to fix faulty airbag sensors. The 2006 3-Series and 2004-2006 5-Series and X3 fitted with sports seats are affected; the front passenger seat may develop cracks in its covering and the weight-sensor beneath may be damaged, so the passenger airbag may then not deploy in the event of a crash.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warned that in some of the recalled BMWs it is possible that the passenger-side airbags can deactivate because of wear associated with a passenger getting in and out of the vehicle.
“Depending on the manner and frequency of the front passenger’s entry and exit, small cracks have developed in the (sensor) mat. If this occurs, the front passenger airbags, with the exception of the head protection system, will be deactivated,” the agency warned.
No recall has been announced for the rest of the world yet, but owners of BMWs with sports seats should probably check them for wear and tear.

every body makes mistakes.. not everything is perfect..
toyota also had made the same mistake before..
when proton calls back the perdana, i was happy that they actually still look at it even after it is made..

Yay! we all are in agreement with something! What are your reactions on the M? BMW whored out M much like Mercedes did with AMG. Whatever materialized to producing vehicles fast that were worth a darn? Whom requires a 4500lb pig with 500 hp?
