Team HPC-ZTH - Drivers Profile

We had tons of inquiries on who the drivers were for Team HPC-ZTH so much so that even at social gatherings, friends would come up and ask about who they were. It was as if it was all such a mystery but it was never meant to be that way, the drivers are really friendly and sociable as well as recognizable in the local motorsports scene. We have among them open pod champions, karting champions, rally champions, what more could we ask for besides Schumi or Lewis himself to take the lead for the team’s quest for 2008 MME glory. Here is everything you want to know about the drivers and if you do see them or any of the team members at the pits on race day, do come up and say hello.

Angeline Ooi

One of the earlier members of the High Performance Challenge (HPC), Angeline also participates with the team operations besides being a team driver. A qualified chartered accountant, she currently works for PriceWaterHouseCooper in Singapore and often flies down to train and catch up with the team. Angeline has trained with several legendary Malaysian drivers and has also attended the Skip Barber Training School in California in preparation for her 2006 MME race, she is also an avid karter and has competed in the MAAC Championship where she placed a credible fifth.

Ross Jamison

A natural born racer, Ross has been shinning from the tender age of 12 when he began karting at the Hong Kong Karting Mall Grand Prix up till now, taking the 2008 Formula BMW Championship. Ross Jamison is the current 2008 Formula Formula BMW Pacific Championship Leader. Ross is also 2005 Asian Karting Champion and was awarded the Asian International Karter of the Year by the Golden Wheels Foundation in 2006. This Welsh born Hong Kong Resident who has just finished his A Levels in Economics, History and English. Despite his grueling schedule, he spends his free time indulging in hobbies such as squash and mountain biking whenever he gets his chance, just like all 18 year olds.

James Russell

A well known driver among local rally fans and 2003 Dunlop AMC Endurance Champion, James has seen the ups and downs of motor racing and has emerged a winner. This year James has been continuing his assault of the Malaysian Rally Championship, and will be competing in the Pirelli Driver Search in October.

He has also been competing in many other forms of racing, including Grass Roots Autosports events, an MAM Rally X event which he won, and the Malaysian Super Series at Sepang.
