You must have noticed a state of nothingness on the site over this past weekend. Well that’s because we were all partying away in Singapore and covering the biggest Singaporean motorshow of 2008. Carreista Jamboree - was organized to fulfill the increased interest in motorsports after the Formula 1 circus left town in September.
Fernando Alonso Named Best Driver of 2008

Fernando Alonso has been named the top F1 driver of the 2008 season by Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The daily sports newspaper said the Spaniard outclassed both Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa, despite the latter duo occupying first and second spots in the final drivers’ classifications.

The 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon is about two weeks away but there have already been a lot of news on what to expect at the show. Besides the usual line up of GTR’s, Evo X, WRX, there will be this car, the new 370Z. A number of tuning houses have already announced their project car and the 370Z is up there with the GTR. This is one example by Japanese tuning firm Branew.

Update: Billionaire Denies Purchasing Honda Formula One Team

Reports that the Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim has or will buy Honda’s Formula One team have been denied. The Telmex racing team, owned by Slim’s telecommunications firm and involved in F3 and other series, said in a statement that Slim “has not bought, nor is negotiating to buy” the Brackley based outfit.
Report: Fernando Alonso To Race For Ferrari in 2011

Fresh new reports have raised linking double World Champion Fernando Alonso to Ferrari in what is purported to be a secret deal between the two Formula One greats. Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Alonso has an agreement to switch to Ferrari in 2011 but could do so earlier as an early replacement for 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen if the Finn continues his poor 2008 form.

Street Legal Lambo Gallardo GT3 Race Car by Reiter Engineering

It’s not easy to turn road cars into race cars. It’s even more difficult to turn race cars into road cars but that’s exactly what Reiter Engineering has been doing lately. The factory supported Lamborghini race team also recently built a street legal variant of their Murcielago R-GT that competes in the FIA GT1 and European Le Mans Series and now they are offering a street legal version of their Gallardo GT3 racecar dubbed “Strada” - Italian for road/street.
