Lamborghini Puke Bag - For Horsepower Sickness

March 31, 2008

lambo_puke.jpgLamborghini apparently has a sense of humor; how else would you explain the exotic brand’s website using an image of a small paper bag with a bull logo and the automobili Lamborghini script, described as a sick bag, as the entry to the merchandise section of its website? If the performance of its cars doesn’t kick you in the gut, the prices will likely induce at least some swooning. A better use for this puke sack - which appears to just be an inside joke to the folks at Sant’Agata - would perhaps be toting the finest of chocolates. Too bad that they’re out of stock (probably forever), so even if you wanted to toss your cookies into what’s undoubtedly one of the highest performance puke bags available, it’s not possible. The time honored tradition of hanging your head out the side window after a particularly hot lap in, say, the Reventon is always an option, though. We wonder if they offer napkins?

Forum Members Help Nab Skyline GT-R Thief

March 31, 2008

The following is an example of how the right kind of team-work, knowledge and co-ordination can team up to churn out desired results. It is an excerpt from AutoBlog and a big applause to them for leading the way in helping motorheads across the world find a way in countering their biggest enemy yet, thieves. So here we are people, we have the right channel, now all we need to do is put our heads together to help fight back against automotive crime.

“Due to the Canadian 15 year or older vehicle exemption rule it is not all too surprising to find a slightly modified R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R on a dealer’s lot. Such was the situation at Heritage Auto Sales in Calgary, Alberta. The dealership had a charcoal grey 1991 GT-R with a Greddy single turbo kit, Zeal coilovers and Panasport wheels on display for interested buyers. The car attracted one apparently serious customer who returned on multiple occasions looking for an opportunity to take a test drive. It must have been a good day, as the salesman was a trusting fellow and allowed the shopper a brief solo spin around the block. Perhaps the salesman felt a bit of remorse for the guy, as he was missing two fingers he claimed were lost in a recent accident involving his old GT-R. However, it wasn’t long before the situation turned sour. The 10 minute journey wound up being a straight-up vehicle theft, leading to a police report and a simple posting on an internet forum. Follow the jump to learn what ensued.

Normally, one would think all is lost; the car must have been stripped apart and hidden behind closed doors within minutes. Fortunately, this thief wasn’t so clever. Possibly forgetting that he was in possession of an atypical vehicle sporting dealer plates, or that he had flaunted a characteristic injury during the commission of his crime, the thief continued to cruise the streets of Calgary. It didn’t take more than a few hours after the start of the internet thread for a reader to spot the hot property at a local mall. The perpetrator was even captured on camera. Needless to say, his photo was quickly posted for all to see, and several members recognized the thief in all his three-fingered glory. They responded by forking over his Facebook page, full name, address and workplace information. He was promptly nicknamed “The Claw” and became the subject of many online Photoshop mockeries.

The saga eventually reached its conclusion when readers visited the thief’s home, boxed in the stolen GT-R and video taped the police hauling “The Claw” off to jail. Catch it on youtube.”

WALD Waltzes With New Mercedes C-Class

March 30, 2008

wclasd_1.jpgWald International does not need introduction, it has set its foot here though its just a print now but they seem to be able to stage a comeback. Now with their eyes on the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204) sedan model, expect them in boxes filled with body-kits and such instead of container load of cars. Although Wald released a set of teaser images on its official website, it hasn’t announced any specific details on the package at the moment. The Japanese tuner’s proposition on the aero kit is every bit as aggressive ad you’d expect including new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, hood scoops, XL side vents, a rear diffuser and a humongous rear wing that brings back memories of the 190 E 2.5 16v EVO.

Part 2: 2008 R3 Satria Neo Test Drive

March 14, 2008

dsc_742.jpgPlease be careful”. That was good enough advise for me and I made a dash for their baby as soon as I was handed the keys. We made way towards the east-coast highway and Bukit Tinggi and were joined by the R3’s lesser sibling, the standard Proton Satria Neo. The first impression of the car is that it looks good, no credit to Proton here but to R3, the colour and the bodykit fits perfectly with the entire aura of the car, it looks purposeful and almost looks as if it is aerodynamically inclined to create downforce but don’t get too excited. Our car rode on 17″ Enkei wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Adrenalin but expect the actual car to ride on Advanti’s with the same rubbers. Read more
