While a proposal to turn Sepang’s prestigious Merdeka Millennium Endurance into a 24-hour race fast gaining momentum, racing legend Hans Joachim Stuck believes the race should remain as it is and instead build further as a prominent 12-hour international endurance race.

In a sensational end to the 2007 Petronas Primax 3 Merdeka Millennium Race (MME), Team Hong Leong-Kencana Racing snatched victory from Petronas Syntium Team after the favourites retired from the race at Sepang Circuit tonight with less than 55 minutes to go and 13 laps ahead.
Leading the race from the second hour and cruising to what looked like a sure victory, the engine of the powerful BMW Z4M Coupe simply stalled at the back straight and driver Fariqe Hairuman leaping out of the car, hopping map in anger and frustration.

14-Year Old Jazeman Jaafar Makes His Debut

In a bizarre twist of events on the final day of registration, Malaysia’s 14-year old racing wonderkid Jazeman Jaafar is making his debut in the 2007 Petronas Primax 3 Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race; declaring that he is ready to battle against the big boys.
A dominating power in go-karts and the current Formula BMW Asia Series, Jazeman would be driving a Lotus Exige 300RR – the car that won Tengku Djan Ley Tengku Mahaleel and the Proton R3 Motorsports the overall titles in 2005 and 2006.
